Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 5, 2026
Calloway for Governor (“the Committee,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using this site you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Signup and volunteer forms: name, email address, ZIP code, and (optionally) mobile phone number, along with any volunteer preferences you select.
- Event RSVPs: your name, contact details, and the event you plan to attend.
- Correspondence: anything you choose to include when you contact the campaign.
Information collected automatically
- Cookies and similar technologies: small files that help the site function and help us understand how visitors use it (pages viewed, approximate location by region, device and browser type).
- Analytics data: aggregated usage statistics that do not identify you personally. You can limit cookies through your browser settings; the site will still function.
Donation information
Donations are processed by a third-party payment processor on its own secure pages. The Committee does not receive or store full payment card numbers. We receive donor information required by campaign-finance law (such as name, address, occupation, employer, and contribution amount), which we retain and report as the law requires.
2. How We Use Information
- To send campaign updates, event invitations, volunteer opportunities, and donation requests by email and — only with your separate express consent — by text message.
- To organize volunteer activity and manage event attendance.
- To comply with campaign-finance reporting and other legal obligations.
- To improve the website and understand which content is useful.
- To protect the security and integrity of the site and our supporter data.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With service providers who help operate the campaign (such as email delivery, data hosting, and compliance services) under obligations to protect it;
- With election authorities where disclosure is required by law;
- If required by valid legal process; or
- With your direction or consent.
We do not sell or share mobile opt-in data. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with or sold to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
4. SMS / Text Message Program
If you opt in to the Calloway for Governor Campaign Updates program by providing your mobile number and checking the consent box, you agree to receive recurring campaign updates, event alerts, and donation requests by automated text message (SMS/MMS) and calls at the number provided. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or donation. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Full program terms are in our Terms of Service. Mobile opt-in data is handled as described in Section 3 above: it is never sold, and never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
5. Data Retention
We keep supporter information for as long as it is needed for campaign operations and for the periods required by campaign-finance law. Records we are legally required to keep (for example, contribution records) are retained for the statutory period. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Email: every campaign email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Text messages: reply STOP at any time to opt out.
- Access, correction, deletion: you may request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to records we must keep by law) using the contact information below. Depending on where you live, state law may give you additional rights; we honor applicable rights requests regardless of state.
7. Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect supporter information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page.
