1. Acceptance of these terms
This website is operated by Citizens for Proposition 12 ("the Committee," "we," "us"), a ballot-measure committee supporting Proposition 12, The Safe Parks Initiative. By using this website, joining our lists, or participating in our text-message program, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. Using this site
- You agree to use this site only for lawful purposes and to provide accurate information in any form you submit.
- You may not attempt to interfere with the site's operation, probe or breach its security, scrape it at disruptive volume, or submit information on behalf of another person without their permission.
- We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site at any time.
3. SMS program terms — "Citizens for Proposition 12 Campaign Updates"
Program description
"Citizens for Proposition 12 Campaign Updates" is a recurring text-message program that sends campaign updates, event alerts, volunteer opportunities, election reminders, and donation requests by automated text message (SMS/MMS) and calls to the mobile number you provide.
Consent
You join the program only by providing your mobile number and checking the express-consent box on our signup form (or by another documented opt-in method). Consent is not a condition of any purchase or donation. You must be the account holder or have the account holder's permission for the number you provide.
Frequency, rates, and support
- Message frequency varies.
- Message and data rates may apply, as billed by your carrier.
- Reply STOP at any time to cancel and stop receiving messages. After you text STOP, we will send one final message confirming your opt-out.
- Reply HELP for help at any time, or contact us at the mailing address below.
Carrier non-liability
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to your carrier's network availability.
Your data
We will not share or sell your mobile opt-in data or consent with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.
Eligibility
The program is available only to individuals 18 years of age or older with a mobile number from a United States carrier.
4. Donation terms
- Donations are processed by a third-party payment processor, not on this website. Your payment information is collected and handled by the processor under its own terms and privacy policy.
- By donating, you certify that: the contribution is made from your own funds and not provided by another person or entity; you are a United States citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident; you are at least 18 years old; the contribution is made on a personal card or account and not a corporate or business account unless permitted by applicable law; and you are not a federal government contractor, if applicable law prohibits such contributions.
- Contributions or gifts to Citizens for Proposition 12 are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes.
- We use best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation, and employer of individuals whose contributions exceed the reporting threshold, as required by applicable campaign-finance law.
- Contribution limits, source restrictions, and disclosure rules for ballot-measure committees vary by state and locality. If a contribution cannot lawfully be accepted, it will be refunded.
5. Intellectual property
The content of this site — text, graphics, logos, and design — belongs to the Committee or is used with permission. You may share and quote site content for personal, non-commercial purposes with attribution. You may not use the Committee's name or marks in a way that implies endorsement without written permission.
6. Third-party links and services
The site may link to third-party services (such as our donation processor). We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites; their own terms and policies apply.
7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
This site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Committee and its volunteers and vendors are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. Nothing on this site is legal, tax, or financial advice.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
