Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 5, 2026 · Committee to Elect Judge Vasquez ("the Committee," "we," "us")
This Privacy Policy explains how the Committee collects, uses, and protects information when you visit this website, sign up for updates, volunteer, RSVP to an event, or contribute to the campaign.
1. Information we collect
- Information you provide through forms. When you join our list, volunteer, or RSVP, we collect the information you enter, such as your first name, email address, ZIP code, and (optionally) your mobile phone number, along with your volunteer interests and any consent selections you make.
- Cookies and analytics. Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working properly and to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use it (pages viewed, approximate region, device type). You can set your browser to refuse cookies; core site content will still work.
- Donation information. Contributions are processed by a third-party payment processor. The processor collects your payment details directly; we receive the contributor information required for campaign-finance recordkeeping and reporting (such as name, address, occupation, employer, and contribution amount), not your full card number.
- Correspondence. If you write to the Committee, we keep the correspondence and contact details you include.
2. How we use information
- To send campaign updates, event notices, and volunteer opportunities you request.
- To operate the SMS program described below, only if you opt in.
- To organize volunteer activities and events.
- To comply with campaign-finance, election, and judicial-campaign laws, including required contribution reporting.
- To maintain the security and proper functioning of the website.
3. SMS / text-message program
If you provide your mobile number and check the consent box, you enroll in "Committee to Elect Judge Vasquez Campaign Updates," a recurring text-message program operated by the Committee. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out and HELP for assistance. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase or donation.
We will not share or sell your mobile opt-in data or consent with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is used solely to operate the program you enrolled in. Full program terms appear in our Terms of Service.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With service providers who help operate the campaign (such as email delivery, text-message delivery, website hosting, and payment processing), bound to use it only on our behalf;
- With election authorities where disclosure is required by law (for example, contribution reporting);
- When required by valid legal process; and
- To protect the security of the website or the rights and safety of others.
Mobile opt-in data is excluded from any sharing for marketing or promotional purposes, as stated above.
5. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, and as required by campaign-finance recordkeeping laws. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. You may request deletion at any time as described below.
6. Your choices and rights
- Email: every campaign email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Text messages: reply STOP to any message to opt out immediately.
- Access, correction, deletion: you may contact the Committee at the mailing address below to request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of your personal information, subject to records we are legally required to keep.
- Depending on your state, you may have additional privacy rights; we will honor verified requests as required by applicable law.
7. Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
